From Greco-Roman plays to Japanese literary epics to Sumerian folklore covering a wide swath of the beautiful tapestry that is the queer community. Designed for summer camps and other group activities serving LGBTQ+ youth the pieces in this anthology are designed to be performed with limited resources and all ten heavily depend on a narrator who can carry the bulk of telling the story via dramatic reading. Made in Mythology is not just an anthology of plays either. Each work is introduced with a brief rundown of each culture s folklore depicted how that society made space for individuals we d consider LGBTQ+ today and an overview of theatrical traditions across time and place. But luckily kids putting these plays together will be having so much fun they won t even recognize how educational the experience is!
