From the author of Disinvited and I m Still Working on It: A gay veteran s story of overcoming hurt loss and PTSD or at least trying to anyway. When my only brother took his life I was devastated. I wasn t prepared to say goodbye. How can you even prepare for something like that? But try as he might to escape his annoying little brother Kyle won t get away that easily. Because his being deceased does not mean he s dead. He s with me anytime I play his favorite records or whenever Mom tells an embarrassing story from our childhood for the billionth time. This is the story of two brothers unseparated even through death; of triumphing over grief and turning pain into joy; of reaching across the divide and staying connected through love laughter and music. Kyle didn t mean to give them to me but I inherited his favorite records. And as long as I play them his song plays on. Being a surviving member of a family that lost someone to suicide I could really relate to the book s coverage of the questions we ask ourselves and the walk we go through to heal. Told in a relatable manner with joy and heartbreak. Kevin s second book is just as good as the first and possibly better. Five stars. Full of brief but informative moments in time which accumulate into the perplexing questions of why bad things happen to our loved ones and how [we] recover from grief without being overwhelmed by it. A must-read....Amazing. A real help for someone who lost someone to suicide. I loved this book! The author s honesty was sometimes painful and sometimes hilarious. Having lost a family member to suicide I could identify with the roller coaster of emotions one goes through while grieving....I recommend this book for anyone that has gone through this kind of loss.
