After losing all their money to a thieving business manager video store mogul Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy who co-created with son Daniel) his soap opera actress wife Moira (Catherine O Hara) and their grown children David (Daniel Levy) and Alexis (Annie Murphy) must abandon their upscale lifestyle. The only asset they have left is Schitt s Creek Ontario-a small town they bought as a joke in the early 90s-which becomes their new home as they try to adjust to a simpler way of life.
