The Illicium parviflorum sometimes called the Yellow Anise Tree is a large and versatile evergreen shrub that can be used as a Mid-Sized to large hedge or trimmed into a small tree. This specimen has glossy olive green foliage and an upright and branching growth habit. This plant will produce tiny yellow-green to cream colored flowers in late Spring. When planting this Illicium dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with your native soil then leave the top of the root ball a half inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil. Use a slow-release granular fertilizer in Spring.
