The B-hyve Smart EPA WaterSense Labeled Indoor/Outdoor Sprinkler Timer/Controller provides smart control of 24 VAC sprinkler and drip systems with up to 12 zones/stations. It is part of the B-hyve Smart water management device ecosystem which includes smart landscape controllers hose faucet timers flow meters leak detectors and mainline shutoffs. When connected to Wi-Fi B-hyve complies with EPA WaterSense weather-based irrigation controller protocols which qualifies it for a rebate from water agencies and cities in many locales. See the B-hyve rebate center for eligibility. This timer is engineered for easy installation in an indoor or outdoor location. It can power a pump start relay and one valve solenoid at the same time. It has a locking door with two keys and the display is mounted on a swing panel which allows you to easily access the wiring. It has a traditional sprinkler timer display which gives full control at the timer or through a smartphone. You can control the timer when you are at home via Bluetooth regardless of whether you have Wi-Fi at the location or a Wi-Fi router near the timer. If you have a Wi-Fi router you can control the timer from anywhere in the world where your smartphone has reception. Smart not only means that you can control it from your smartphone B-hyve WeatherSense technology makes it weather smart. When connected to Wi-Fi B-hyve automatically checks your local weather conditions many times each day recalculates the soil moisture level in each zone and then makes smart choices about when and how long to water. In the event of rain high wind or freeze B-hyve will delay watering until normal conditions return and then will calculate the appropriate watering schedule helping take advantage of beneficial rainfall and saving water. The data log records watering history by day month year and year-over-year comparison. If you prefer programming the timer with a specific schedule instead of smart watering the A B C and D program slots allow you to set up to four custom watering schedules tailored to diverse types of zones in the landscape. Each custom program has space for multiple start times which allows you to create cycle and soak windows that encourage water infiltration into the soil. The manual run feature allows you to run one zone select zones or programs or all zones for a specified length of time which is very convenient for zone testing or supplemental watering in case you do not have a smartphone handy. It has a rain delay feature at the timer or through the app which allows you to skip watering of zones for a configurable time when Mother Nature is taking care of the watering and a relay switch for adding an automatic rain and freeze sensor (sold separately). Installation is as simple as mounting the timer on the wall putting the common wire (typically white wire) in the C terminal and the individual zone wires in each of the numbered station terminals plugging in the power cord and setting the schedules. Push wire terminals allow for tool-less insertion and removal of the wires. The recommended standard sprinkler wire for this timer is 18-guage thickness with 5 or 7 strands/wires. To set the smart schedule simply download the B-hyve App connect the timer to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router confirm your location and closest weather station (B-hyve is personal weather station capable) and set the parameters for each zone in your landscape along with any day-of-week or time-of-day watering restrictions. Weather and zone parameters are highly customizable to ensure that you can tailor the watering to suit each zone. B-hyve is the only smart irrigation app with a built-in sprinkler precipitation rate calculator allowing you to determine with high precision the amount of water per hour applied by the sprinklers in each zone. B-hyve catch cups (sold separately) allow you to easily collect the data to input into the app which can contribute to significant water savin
