The Elaeagnus X Ebbingei is an evergreen shrub with dark green leaves that have a silver underside. It produces white fragrant flowers that eventually turn into an ornamental silvery berry. Elaeagnus grows well in USDA zones 6-10 and tolerates full sun to partial shade. It can be planted as a large hedge or privacy screen. When planting this shrub dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with native soil. Leave the top of the root ball half an inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil. As a lawn plant use a slow-release granular fertilizer in the Spring. It s not guaranteed to be in bloom on arrival.
