Hamelin grass is an attractive ornamental grass attributed by fluffy buff colored plumes that hang over the foliage. The foliage emerges green then turns to a golden-russet color in Fall. Hamelin contrasts well as a backdrop in a perennial bed. When planting this grass dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with your native soil then leave the top of the root ball 1/2 inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil. Use a slow release granular fertilizer in Spring.
