To Prevent helium/air from escaping, tie your ribbon below the valve opening (Tying above where you fill the balloon may damage the valve and allow helium to escape). For Air-Filling foil balloons, an air-pump or straw can be used. If air-pump, be sure to use one with an appropriate tip for mylar balloons (long and narrow), so not to tear the valve.
