0724353427429. New condition. CD. The hugely popular Prayer of Jabez is given a musical treatment here with pleasant if somewhat strange results. The passion of the artists who contribute to this album is evident in the music which has a melancholy contemporary country feel on the surface but there are also strong pop (and occasionally electronic) stylings underneath. Portions of the prayer surface in each of the seven tracks with the bulk of it appearing in the second track which is actually titled Prayer of Jabez. Several of the tracks work well as CCM songs especially Be in Your Blessing where the folky vocals echo the style of contemporary singer/songwriters. While the album might be a bit unusual stylistically overall it creates a laid-back reflective mood that does suit its subject matter. ~ Stacia Proefrock Rovi
