On hand is a star-studded array of guests including Paul Simon Bobby Womack Stevie Wonder Wynonna Judd and Isaac Hayes. Virtuoso of close-harmonies it cannot be overestimated their importance in the basis of 50s doo wop. Artists from the Temptations to Jackie Wilson with Womack and Wonder owe a huge debt to the group. Paul Simon featured them on his 1973 hit Love Me Like a Rock and here they revisit that song with him. The group formed in 1928 in South Carolina. Nearly two-dozen members passed through the group since that time.
