School is about to start again in a couple of weeks, so it's the perfect time to get some gear to make sure this school year is gonna be a success!
UrAvgConsumer has made a list of, let's say "handy school supplies to get, next to your ordinary pen and paper". In this list you'll find an awesome gaming chair, some backpack to fit all your books and of course a brand new laptop. This is the baller edition, so some things are going to be a little bit pricey. When he uploads a budget edition, we'll make sure to summarize it as well!
Let's take a look at the list!
He starts out the video with recommending a good solid backpack, a Mark Ryden 3 pocket backpack. It's a beautiful matte black backpack with a water resistant texture, so your books and anything else in it won't get wet. It has tons of compartments: 12 types acceptable interlayer, which means just your average compartments and then 2 digital isolation layers, specifically for your tech like an iPad or a laptop. There's even a spot for a portable charger, so you can charge your phone, even when you are wearing the backpack.
Where do we even start with the HP Omen 16 laptop? Let's safely assume you'll probably use this more for entertainment than for studying.
You can add an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor in it if you really want it to fly. Together with an AMD Radeon RX 6600M graphics card, you have basically everything you need to take all the games you have on your desktop pc with you on this beast.
For more information you can check the product page on Walmart.
These are a very solid pair of headphones for people who want quality, but don't want to overspend. And believe us, you can easily spend over $150 and then you still don't have the best of the best over-ear headphones.
The good news is that they have all the features that you want wireless headphones to have: active noise canceling, transparency mode, fully over-ear, soft and replaceable cushions. The ear-cups fully rotate and you can fold it up to minimize the space it takes.
It has 40(!) hours battery life with noise canceling ON and 60(!!) with noise canceling OFF.
And the last cool feature of the Soundcore Life Q30 is the physical buttons to regulate the volume and skip/pause songs. Physical buttons are so 90's, we know, but if you tried something like Apple Airpods where you have to take out your phone to put the volume lower, you'll know what kind of a luxury having physical buttons is!
The great thing about the Beats Flex earbuds is that you don't have to worry about them falling out of your ears or losing one of them. That's great if you're not into 100% wireless earbuds.
They pair super easily with any of your Apple devices, but also work with Android and other devices that can pair with Bluetooth earbuds. The battery life is around 12 hours which should be sufficient for most students.
A portable charger with USB C is a must-have these days, especially if your backpack has a USB port (wink, wink).
The Ravpower has a 15000 mAh battery inside, which means you can charge your phone multiple times. On the build-in screen you see exactly how much percentage battery the charger has left, so you never have to guess anymore.
It has two ports: a USB type A and a USB C PD (which is a fast charging port).
Some extra storage is always good to have, and with the T7 Touch Portable SSD you care 2 TB of extra storage wherever you go. Perfect to use as a backup drive for your laptop, and of course to store some movies for your daily commute.
The Moleskine Pen+ is going to be a Godsend if you like handwriting your notes during class, but also want the benefit of having digital notes.
As you write in the notebook with your Moleskine Pen+, the built-in camera records your hand movements and sends it over to the Moleskine app on your phone or iPad. As you're writing, you'll see your notes appear word-for-word in realtime on your phone's screen. Preeeetttyyyy sweet!
Perfect to have digital backup of your handwritten notes and to take special notes that are harder to write on the fly on your laptop (think maths equations).
As everything is backed up on your phone or tablet, accidentally losing your notebook is not the end of the world anymore.
So this was it for the Baller Edition of the Back to School 2021 tech review video by UrAverageConsumer. We're on the lookout for the budget edition, and it will appear right on this blog as soon as the video is live!
Kick some ass at school this year!
